Since
1989, Research-Education-Advocacy-People (REAP) has researched a wide
range of issues that impact United Food & Commercial UFCW members,
UFCW local unions and workers in general. Some, but not all of our
research have included:
UFCW bargaining in some of the largest
industries in the U.S.
Long-term wage and UFCW bargaining trends
in the retail supermarket and meat packing industries;
UFCW organizing and mergers; union democracy
and leadership accountability within UFCW;
The UFCW International Union Constitution
and Conventions;
Salaries of UFCW union officers;
The structure and operation of the 1.3
million member UFCW
The results of our research have been shared at no cost to interested
UFCW members, local union officers, staff, certain universities and
those interested in worker struggles. This information has been provided
in newsletters, in-depth reports, briefing papers, pamphlets, at seminars
and in this Website.
REAP
believes that workers can only advance in the economic, social and
political arenas through a strong and democratic trade union movement.
REAP firmly believes that workers need a union and should participate
and support a union. REAP also believes that a strong and democratic
trade union movement is good for America.
